Family Therapy
The goal of family therapy is to help family members improve communication, solve family problems, understand and handle special family situations, and create a better functioning home environment. For children and adolescents, family therapy most often is used when the child or adolescent has an issue that impairs their family and social functioning. Families with members from a mixture of racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds, as well as families made up of same-sex couples who are raising children, may also benefit from family therapy.
Couples' Therapy
The purpose of couples’ therapy is to restore a better level of functioning in couples who experience relationship distress. Couples' therapy can assist persons who are having complaints of intimacy, sexual, and communication difficulties. Therapy addresses many aspects of the relationship, although communication tends to be the primary focus. One of the first steps in improving a relationship is to teach each person how to regulate their emotions, stay calm, and use healthy communication skills to resolve problems.
Mediation Services
Mediation services are designed to provide divorcing couples with an opportunity to negotiate important issues, such as assets and liabilities, parenting plans, times haring schedules and alimony. Mediation offers couples the chance to establish agreements that work for each party involved, rather than having the courts decide for you.
Collaborative Divorce Services
In Collaborative Divorce, the focus is on the transitioning family unit. Spouses make their own decisions about their divorce rather than putting attorneys, judges and the courts in charge. The parents engage the support of a team of highly and specially trained legal, psychological and financial professionals. The team supports you in evaluating your options and goals and help you to create your own solutions, and feel empowered rather than at the mercy of a legal system which is hard to understand and highly impersonal. The goal is to divorce respectfully and in a fashion that helps the family transition with as much legal, psychological and financial knowledge as possible.
